First off, this isn't the Vita's "interface" nor is it a product of Sony's doing. Second, the only remotely similar thing about this is the layout. I guess every forum for instance copies each other due to the layout and method of posting generally being the same everywhere.
i came here thinking he was being a little exaggerative, but after seeing this, i must agree with the poster. This was definitely based off the Vitas Twitter/other apps interface and nintendo can have some serious consequences
I don't see anything that's a rip off there. As above, if it's Twitter or whatever, then it's made by that parent company and they'd want uniformity in their apps so even the most casual users understand what they're looking at, regardless of the platform.
I only see the typical Nintendo style Fisher Price UI that they've had since the introduction of the Wii combined with a very conventional message interface. Nothing ripoff about it.
The Vita picture is of the Twitter app, the Wii U picture is that of a Wii U message board-like feature with which you can communicate with your Wii U friends by sending text messages, handwritten notes, screen captures or video-chat. The thing is that's a very common and intuitive way to arrange such an application on a screen of that orientation. The title makes it sound like the Wii U's UI copies the Vita's, when all it is is two messaging apps that have a similarly generic layout. If a gaming company is going to face "some serious consequences" (sorry but ) for copying something, this isn't gonna be it. I guess the OP and Rakuen don't realize the amount of similarly-designed services and products they use every day. They probably don't realize video-game controllers existed before Sony boldly created them out of their own pure imagination.
Yes because once again, that is a feature unique to the Vita... "They copied my favorite company" arguments, are you serious?
They also copied their format off of every smart phone for the past like 8 years....big deal! This isn't copying. It's called "Threaded Messaging", and it's pretty standard these days. I am a big big BIG Sony fan, but Nintendo has never been one to steal ideas. It's the other way around. First the Wii, then Move and Kinect. First the DS, then the Vita. (in reference to touchscreens)
To be fair, it would have been an incredibly boneheaded business decision if the Sony created the Vita without a touchscreen. It doesn't even function the same as the DS families, so that doesn't really count.
I no in plus the smart phones had first. and DS fan just want us to stay with the psp forever so they can talk about how better is the 3DS then psp
Pretty much what I was going to say, whether or not this is the case, it is usually the other companies that sincerely flatter Nintendo.... Either way, Ninty has a long way to go to convince me to jump ship back over to them, they lost me with the wii (loved the GameCube) should've stayed hardcore IMHO. Just imagine the uproar if the vita becomes a dedicated controller for PS4.
That's interesting that I wouldn't realize that considering I build online interfaces for a living. Maybe you're just blind to the amount of influence that looks like it was borrowed. Small things from the word bubbles being the postings to the shape of the arched buttons to the layout placement. Each of those in itself aren't very new, but when you put it all together, then it all looks very similar. Just to clarify, that image and the heading come from a twitter post from the person who actually made the image. Since I was on the iPad at the time I simply posted the link so people could see something humerous. Guess I should have stated that ahead of time, but I didn't expect some people to be so butt hurt over a simple image.
I'm exactly the same. I gave them a last chance with the 3DS but they blew it completely. They are going full on for the children/parents/casual/inexperienced-gamers demographics but offer nothing for the serious gamers out there. Good for them, because it helps them shift big numbers, but game-wise they've gone down the drain since the Gamecube days ended. They've become a gimmicky one-trick-pony factory. What happened to the company that gave us Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime and Super Mario Brothels?
Please Please stop this ripping off stuff companies cannot copyright features so just be glad for others if the get it now if its a game then thats a different story but this isn't a big deal so everyone just don't get it or don't.
