I don't see how people can be so trusting in review sites. Like y'all live and die by them when it comes to purchasing games. Remember when these sites review games they usually give it to 1 person to review. That means it is his or her opinion. Therefore you have to decide for yourself if the game is good or not. I'm starting even to question why some of you purchased a vita in the first place. I'm starting to think you had the misconception of it being a "handheld ps3" lol. Don't call the game crap or shit or bad until you've played it. I love shinobido and the scores were horrible for that game I didn't stray away. If you look at Igns review he said the gameplay was solid but said it just wasn't interesting. He didnt feel like Tom Riley. For a professional reviewer that's fine. But for casual gamers that we are does that really interest you? Does the sound of gun shots really interest you that much? One of the best video game franchises ever Mario had a horrible story, the sound was trash, and I never felt like Mario but yet I always played it because it was just a fun game. Samething with goldeneye I never even finished the story. But I played multiplayer for like 300 hours lol. Even with mw3 and I'll take a picture I am 0.00% on campaign, but 60% on spec ops and 56% on multiplayer. Most of the time when I play that game I have a playlist blasting and I don't even listen to the sound effects. Don't judge the game before you play it just because you thought it wouldn't be a good game and hear someone else say its not very good then jump on the " I knew it. I knew it was gonna suck. See it sucks." then when some asks have you played it come back with an slick remark because you don't want to look foolish. Play the game or don't but you cant call it bAd if you never played it. That's like saying have you heard this song no but it sucks. How do you know it's not going to be the best song you've ever heard?

You totally mistake the pure sense of an offical review.
It is meant to PREVENT ppl to buy a game or RECOMMENT ppl to buy it.

    >>Listening to a reviewer is exactly the right thing to do.<<
This is what reviews are made for, god dam it.

Ok ok ok!!! You are right, a review is just the opinion of a single guy, BUT you forget that those guys are PROS!
    and
Metacritic sums the average score of all available pros up!
Do you really wanna stay there with your hands on your ears singing "LALALA" and ignore all those reviews?!

Following the suggestion of a meta-score can not be wrong.
Or better said, the chance that you personally think the game is much better than the meta-score says is very very little.
I for my part won´t spent my money for a full price game if the chance that I can enjoy it, is minimal.

    [PS:
Oh and... maybe this is a personal issue of mine but...
When I buy myself a game and then realize that it sucks, I feel ashamed. I hate it when ppl say to me: "Duuude WHAT?! You actually spent money for that piece of crap?!"]

ONLY BUY GAMEZ WITH METACRITIC RATING OVA 75 GAIZ
They rate crack on metacritic now?

I'd love to see you rage when you dislike a game you bought that got nothing but positive reviews, it would just be so entertaining.

People buy games that they think they will enjoy, some may be influenced by reviews to some extent but when you hold someone else' opinion in such a high regard you're only limiting yourself; it's almost like disliking a food you enjoy because someone else doesn't like it as much as you; where's the logic in that? Reviews should be as objective as possible but that isn't often the case, meaning your opinion is based on another opinion; that reviewer's preferences may have been very different to that of what the game offered making the game seem worse than it is.

Can a 'bad' game be enjoyed? Yes it can. You decide what you enjoy, you shouldn't rely on others to tell you what you should and shouldn't enjoy.
It must really hurt your reputation as a 'high quality gamer'.

    Never happend yet. o_ô

Are you kinda blind or something?! Were there to many words in my previous post that you don´t understand?!
I said: "Yes, one single review can be wrong, but a mass of reviews with a summed up score can not!"
You know that is the princip of a democracy.
Either you´re a communist or a facsist but doubting the opinion of the masses is not very democratic.

Yes you are right. The chance is there but as I said before it is very small!
Sorry but my amount of money is limited.
    I guess yours is not?!
I have to think about for what games I spent my money and I won´t spent it for games where the chance that I can enjoy it is very small.
Reason: That would be stupid. You don´t bet on a something where the qoute is 50:1 that you will win, Do you?! ...unless you have too much money.

This is what I posted in the Resistance Burning Skies OT.

I just can't believe how ridiculous that Destructoid review was, that Jim guy even said that the game was "visually atrocious" he even used the words, despicable and embarrassing, I mean, seriously, what is this guy expecting, Resistance 3 in your pocket? The graphics look brilliant from what I've seen, and even if they're not on par with Uncharted Golden Abyss, which other reviews have pointed out, they still look impressive. Jim Sterling just seems like an attention seeking wanker to me, trying to look good with all his overcritical vocabulary.

Greg Miller on the other hand, when watching the Burning Skies review on IGN, his points make sense, and you can tell he's being honest, and he straight forwardly clarifies, the positives and the negatives. Despite the mediocre score, I am much more inclined to believe Greg to that Jim guy. You see, there are people out there who love games for what they are, nothing has to be fancy and games don't have to be of high standards for people to enjoy them, yet there are others in the world, who dig deep into games, and can find the littlest of things, off putting, and there are always areas of a game that are open to criticism, but it all comes down to what you make of it, no one else.

If you have a limited budget then why in the Hell did you buy a 250+ gaming device? Guess its good your such an elitist gamer and only buy such high quality games and obviously are incapable of forimg an opinion for yourself. Politicians and corporate media love mindless drones like you. So did the nazis in Germany. These mindless millions of idiots gave power to a tyrant. Never asking questions in a democracy is why democracy is dying. so as the free nations of the world fall back into tyrannies at least you will be jive with the masses just like those mindless Germans.

But seriously Toni it didn't get bad reviews only a few are bad... Everyone is saying it is an alright game.. They feel it could have been better.. This is my thing if it was a new ip I think it would get some slack, but because it holds the resistance name people are saying oh it doesn't live up to the ps3 version... I've never played the series before so I can make a clear call on what it is.. It's like with the psp they rated games based on how the system's specs performed. Games were extremely scaled back and I guess everyone was cool with that for the time. Now that they have a machine that can give console like experiences they want to rate it like a console, but I think they tend to forget it's a handheld. They rate iPhone and iPad games based on their specs as well, how come they vita can't get a fair shot in it's market?

I'm actually glad you took it light hearted. I was half expecting a flame war to start. If you don't want to buy the game doesn't mean you have to patronize other members. Some people can afford buying however many games they want.

So 30 minutes in and here is my take. The game controls and runs great! no slow down so far. very fluid and the controls are really solid! Playing on hard so far. The graphics are sick!!! I dont know where people dont think it looks great because it does. not uncharted but better than unit 13 and mk9. I admit the gunshots and explosions suck but the voice acting is amazing!!!! The gameplay is crazy fun, so far on single player havent tried mp yet. I am having a blast killing these aliens. the tag shot is great and sticking a fire axe in their heads is crazy lol.. great game so far that a fps fan will def enjoy. now the bad parts. Running is a chore. you either double tap the back or hit down on the dpad.. im not a fan of either. also i wish like some ios games i could reposition the grenade and axe touch screen buttons. I tried to hit an alien with the axe but threw a grenade and blew myself up lol.. so far those are the only complaints i have. i would give this game an 8/10 from what ive played. the story is a bit typical but i dont really care i just wanna shoot things lol..

Sure thing. Some of the touch screen controls are actually neat. They add something new to the franchise. Already got three trophies. If anything should be an easy plat.

Damn maybe the guy above should have said that he does not spend his hard earned money on mediocre games. Really when you look at this game on Metacritic right now there are like zero in the 90's range, a few in the 80's, a few total stinkers, and the rest just calling it mediocre. If the complaints lodged in all of the poor or mediocre reviews are to be believed this game is one to pick up when the price drops......short campaign with terrible level design, flat footed enemies that just stand still when fired at, and bare boned multiplayer. Seriously I'm with that guy when he says this is probably one to pass on at full price.

Thanks. and he has his right to say anything he wishes. If he likes the game, then fair. Who cares about Metacritic anyway? Id never even heard of that before yesterday. Most reviews from other sites gave the game 8.x/10
