Ps Vita Skype Release Date

Skype will be released the 24th of April, in roughly ten days alongside a couple of other apps.

Most likely we will see a western press release from them, as this is a very sought after app for the vita.

The two free apps, "Paint Park" and "Wake-up Club" will be released on the 19th in Hong Kong, while Skype is looking to be out on the 24th.















From speculation and logic, Paint Park seems to be an internationally released application, due to it's resemblance to "Welcome Park", while the art style of Wake-up Club is very Japan/China and might not be released world wide.

Apparently the US is also getting "Frobisher Says";

Am I the only one who think WTF when I open 'Paint Park'? Bought the Vita for gaming and would love an Alarm clock app and Skype but this Paint Park is just pointless beyond pointless.

Agreed. I think it should have PSN social capabilities, not just an Ad-Hoc mode. Incorporating it into a game would be a lot better. Sure, lots of people will draw dicks, but it'll at least have a point.

I like it, you can use it if you're bored and I mean, why not. They want it to be a social/personal platform. That's why you can only log in with one psn account and changing is a hassle. Sony is improving it slowly but surely. When skype comes, we'll see a surge in purchases, as games become good and available it will get better and on top of that because right now Sony is realizing their top tier gaming handheld is doing really bad in the mother country japan and improving it faster than what they had planned. Which is super smart and they should have done that from the beginning. The Playstation Suite should have been available instantly for example.

It's improving, I like the paint app. You can take pictures and mess with them.

There are better apps similar to Paint Park on the iPad. Personally I rather use those.

Is Skype really coming out on the 24th? Why have Sony not mentioned it at all? Also, will the UK owners be getting it on the 24th? Or will we have to wait an extra month! lol
