I noticed on html5test.com had PS Vita listed twice (respectively PlayStation Vita (NetFront) and PlayStation Vita) The NetFront Vita had a lower score while the other Vita had a higher score (around 200 somthing). Go check for yourselfs. So do you guys think we'll be getting HTML5 soon? 2012-10-24-225149.jpg

The no. 1 reason for the Vita never getting HTML5 or Flash in it´s browser is:

Then the ppl could play f2p browser games.

Sony´s afraid that, if this happens, game sales will drop hard.

We already have HTML5 support, we just can't stream videos, games, etc. I imagine part of the reason being the controversy Fox started with their PSPorn campaign.

I think it's because of the performance issues. Maybe Vita is too slow for video streaming and stuff like that? Vita's browser is kinda buggy.

i believe because sony is limiting it, the PS vita has better hardware than most phone and those most phones have a better web browser because the makers don't limit what they can do

This!! PS Vita games are expensive, which makes free web games a far more interesting deal.

I see. Why would Sony do that though? Wouldn't it be better to use vita to its full potential?

Ummm... Some browser games DO already work on the Vita (most don't though, and some only kinda work). Plus, what most browser games offer doesn't really stack up against the games you can play on the Vita.

Also, the whole Fox News porn thing is probably not the case, as the browser has the ability to download and save videos. You can literally access porn on almost any device made since 2008, as most devices made in the past four years have included at least some form of crude web browser.

I honestly think that Sony will probably get full HTML5 support on the Vita eventually, but I think they want to guarantee that the browser is stable, and secure (as in people can't exploit the browser to hack their Vita).

i don't know, maybe Sony doesn't want you to depend on the browser or they just don't know how to make good web browsers in general

I really don't think browser games would ever break Sony. I am sorry but most browser games truly do suck.

Most people are trophy whores anyway and just buy a game to show their trophies off which no browser game will do.

I just think it is really unrealistic to say that is the reason why we will never see full HTML5 support, I think we will then again I really don't care too much myself if we ever get it or not, I never use my Vita's web browser.

3G is slow as hell around here so not like I bothered buying the 3G version just for web on the go when I have a thousand phones that can get on the web just the same.
