You are more likely to see it in the form of Skylanders.... I dont see why it would be possible though, perhaps even remakes of some of his older outings.....

I don't believe there is any news about it, but if they do, it BETTER be similar to the originals. :D

Yes, the likely-hood of them making Spyro a good game again is slim, now that it's been pushed between so many developers and publishers.

But a guy can at least dream.

EDIT: I just watch the video linked. I didn't know they did THAT.

    WHAT

    Errr...no?

It was a multiplatform game developed by Activision. It was even on the 3DS, Wii, and 360. Sony's first party studio Insomniac Games doesn't own the rights to the franchise anymore. Ever since after the PS1 days.

    Spyro's story according to Activision:
I think I like my story better:
Spyro was once an epic, cute, purple dragon that gamers used to team up with to kick some butt, now, Activision has morbidly changed him into a children's game where Activision foolishly thought it would sell more copies. Clearly they forgot about nostalgia.

Skylanders is making all its money off selling those damn little figures which are selling surprisingly well. Activision owns Spyro and don't expect to see any version other than Skylanders any time soon. You could always buy the PS1 Classics though.
